So, it's 2 months since Christmas and we are almost 2 months into the New Year. How are those New Year's resolutions holding up? Did you make any this year? How many did you keep this year? Or are you seeing each day as a "new year" and an opportunity to turn over a new leaf... to start fresh... to flip the page?
Every day is the beginning of a "new year"... even February 26 or 27 or 28... There are lots of things we want to alter in our lives, and each day is a new opportunity to recommit to those things... or to start anew with different things.
Of course, if we are going to take something new on... we need to let something old go. It's like with decluttering... if you bring in something new, you need to let go of something old. Bring in a new shirt... and you should let an old one go. If we didn't do this, pretty soon we'd need bigger closets and bigger houses and well... we'd be drowning in stuff....
So what about resolutions?? If I make a resolution to exercise every day... then I might need to let go of laziness or watching TV in the afternoon or surfing the internet and playing computer games. If I make a resolution to be more patient... then I need to let go of impatience. If I make a resolution to declutter... well, for sure I need to let go of some things!
So... if your resolutions have kind of fizzled... take a look and see if you let go of the things you needed to let go of... in order to make space for the new...
