The edge of Ideas. The edge of Connections. The edge of the Unknown. And... in 2020... reading my way (again) through a hefty list of World-Changing books.

Phosphorous
I was reading a thing on the news that said our phosphorous reserves are not inexhaustible. In fact, in a few decades, they could be all gone... Phosphorous is used as fertilizer to grow our food... to produce larger yields... In an age when food security is becoming the latest hot topic... we'd do well to wonder about our phosphorous! But... there is a company that is looking at recycling phosphorous... out of sewage... Which is a brilliant idea!! Too much phosphorous in our sewage harms the oceans, where it ultimately all ends up... But if we can extract the phosphorous from the sewage, we not only clean up our sewage... but get fertilizer crystals out of it... Quite a brilliant idea... And one that is probably going to become the latest thing out there... It's nice to read "good news" stories like that... even in the context of "bad news" stories... like food security... It makes me think there might be hope for us yet...
