Alright, I don't know about the rest of you but... I'm pretty sure that time has speeded up a lot in the last year or two. Somehow it never seems like there is enough time in a day or a week or a month. The days just speed by and the weekend is over before it even began!
What's happening?? Is this just a "getting older" thing? Or does time really speed up? I think back to when I was in my 20s and 30s and I seemed to have a tonne of free time! What happened? Do I just have way more projects on the go? Or is there just less time?
Ahhhh!!! Or is our culture just time-fixated? We check our watches and smartphone clocks all the time... Are we just more time conscious? Or is it something else? I know that if I get in the zone of working on something - I can come back up for air and think that 6 hours have gone by, when really it was only 3 hours... So the reverse can happen as well - time seems to slow down.
Does it depend on what we are doing? If we're just frittering away the hours and days, does time speed up? If we're worried about how little time we have, does time speed up? Is it all a perception thing? Do we spend a lot of time dithering about how much has to get done... and not enough time actually buckling down and just starting one tiny thing? Do we spend so much time wringing our hands, that we don't have enough time for actually doing something with our hands? Maybe...
Or maybe it's just me... or an aging thing... or we really are in a time warp?
